Oof this brought tears to my eyes. My youngest is turning 7 this summer and yet reading your words brings me right back into that in between headspace (and the roller coaster that comes after.) There is nothing that can prepare you for being a mother and that is the very best (although extremely disorienting) part. I often think about how in many ancient cultures there wasn't a ritual to become an adult for women as there were for men, simply because childbirth did it for you. Congrats on your next iteration!
